Alongside the event work at Partini, I ran a vintage and upcycled goods pop-up at the South Pasadena Farmers Market and out of our storefront. I sourced items from all over Los Angeles — hunting through estate sales, markets, and suppliers for things worth rescuing, restoring, or simply presenting to the right person.
The inventory was eclectic by design. Wire crowns. Monkey pod bowls. Housewares with history. The kind of objects that don't fit neatly into a category but stop people in their tracks when they're laid out on a table. There was always something for someone, which made it genuinely enjoyable to operate — no two weekends looked the same.
The Farmers Market setting was a good fit. South Pasadena has a strong sense of community and an appreciation for things that aren't mass-produced. Regulars came back week after week to see what had come in. That kind of connection to the people buying things is hard to replicate in any other retail format.
